Recommended beer pairing: A spooky gothic mystery, Yes, My Darling Daughter needs a dark beer to warm the soul while reading - a Dubbel. A Dubbel is a traditional Belgian ale pioneered by Trappist monks, so it evokes the claustrophic (and sometimes creepy) nature of a monastary. Not too alcoholic, the Dubbel is malty and spicy, dark in color, but mild in bitterness and hops.

Ommegang Abbey Ale
Chimay Red
